In September 2025, the RCMP executed Canada’s largest-ever cryptocurrency seizure — dismantling the offshore exchange TradeOgre and seizing CAD $56 million in digital assets — with TRM Labs providing direct investigative support. RCMP investigators used TRM’s Seed Analysis tool to convert a recovered seed phrase into wallet addresses, balances, and full transaction histories, enabling the agency to follow the money across darknet markets, ransomware programs, and fraud schemes. That same named relationship extends to DCI’s federal customer base: CRA holds an active contract (2BSCS13563) for crypto tax enforcement, where TRM’s blockchain tracing capability underpins the agency’s ability to identify unreported digital asset income across the Canadian tax gap. TRM Labs now serves law enforcement and national security agencies across more than 50 countries — including Canada, the US, UK, and EU — and in February 2026 closed a $70 million Series C led by Blockchain Capital with Goldman Sachs and Citi Ventures participating, reaching a $1 billion valuation on the back of 150%+ average annual revenue growth over five years. Canada ranked #9 on TRM’s 2024 Illicit Crypto Exposure Index, placing Canadian-linked entities among the highest proportions of illicit exposure globally and reinforcing the strategic case for TRM deployment across federal financial intelligence, law enforcement, and tax authority mandates.
