LuxCarta is a French geospatial intelligence company with 30+ years of pedigree and a North American presence in Cambridge, Massachusetts, producing the high-resolution geodata that defence, intelligence, and simulation organizations depend on for mission-critical operations. Their BrightEarth AI platform — commercially launched in January 2025 and now available on-demand in the cloud — uses satellite imagery and machine learning to extract 3D buildings, vegetation, roads, and 18-class land use/land cover data at sub-metre resolution, enabling rapid production of geo-specific terrain models without manual digitizing. In April 2025, LuxCarta formalized a technology partnership with Esri and Esri France, integrating ArcGIS CityEngine into BrightEarth to deliver photorealistic building facades and rooftops — extending the platform’s value to any organization already running an Esri stack, including the vast majority of Canadian federal geomatics shops. On the defence simulation side, LuxCarta’s terrain data feeds directly into Bohemia Interactive Simulations’ VBS4 and Mantle ETM platform — the same military synthetic environment used for mission rehearsal by NATO-aligned armed forces — under a formal distribution partnership announced in November 2023 and expanded through 2024; meanwhile, a separate partnership with Thales, active since 2020 and formalized in 2023, embeds LuxCarta’s AI cartographic production into French military Geomaps intelligence systems, providing documented proof that the technology performs under real operational conditions.
