Bell AI Fabric, Cohere, Hypertec and BUZZ HPC have announced a major investment in Canadian artificial intelligence infrastructure through a new sovereign AI data centre initiative. The project will be based in British Columbia and is designed to provide Canadian organizations with access to advanced AI computing resources hosted within Canada.

The initiative combines NVIDIA technology with Canadian-manufactured hardware and is expected to support both public- and private-sector organizations seeking secure, domestically hosted AI capabilities. As governments continue to evaluate requirements around data sovereignty, security and responsible AI adoption, investments such as this highlight the growing importance of Canadian-owned and operated AI infrastructure.
